Selling from within the Joint Equity Scheme
What happens if I want to sell my equity share?
Just as when the Owner Partner wants to sell there are conditions. Briefly;
The Investor Partner can not force the Owner Partner to sell and the Owner Partner
has the 1st option to buy the share..
The Investor offers the Owner Partner the opportunity to buy the share.
If the Owner Partner declines to buy the share the Investor can sell the share to
another incoming Investor Partner.
What are the safeguards?
The Joint Equity Partners Contract protects both Partners interests while providing
appropriate investment exit options.
Perhaps the most important is that the Owner or Investor can not force a sale where
either would lose money.
What happens if my Owner-Partner wants to sell?
Once you crossover from Buy to Let to the Joint Equity shared home ownership you
become the Investor-Partner with all the protection any other Investor-Partner has.

- You have 1st option to buy the Owner Partner’s Share. In brief it works like this;
- If the Owner-Partner wants to sell their equity stack they must inform Joint Equity.
- We inform you and you have 21 days to decide to buy the Owner Partners equity share.
- If you do buy the Owner-Partners share you can resell it to another incoming Owner-Partner
or you can convert it back to Buy to Let.
- If you do not want to buy the Share you may decide to sell your Share as well. The
property is sold and the net proceeds are shared between the 2 Partners pro-rata
the equity Share holding.
- If you do not want to any of these options the Owner-Partner is free to sell their
Share to another Owner-Partner
